CUTTING / FRAMING MANAGER - Homestead Structures
Position Summary:
In this position, as a Jack-of-all-Trades, you will play a critical role in manufacturing cottages, performing all trades necessary for the production of highly functional cottages. Work hand in hand with other team members to keep a smooth workflow going and eliminate stoppages. This will require lots of attention to detail to ensure that every cottage is functioning properly, built to RVIA requirements, and ready to perform for dealerships and campgrounds.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Primary Roles:
LMA: Give clear direction to the Cutting/Framing team, provide support, delegate responsibilities, and regularly implement improvements for the department. Keep expectations clear, communicate, and stay in touch with direct reports to keep projects on track and most importantly, the employees supported and productive. Create an environment of accountability.
Lumber Cutting: Digest complex construction plans and cut components including wall plates, beams, rafters, trim, and all other necessary components in preparation for construction.
Beam Assembly: Assemble beams and top plates for kitting of pool houses to be built on site.
Oversee Framing: Oversee and assist in framing walls, fitting roof systems, and other framing components for assembly or kit packing.
Metal Trim / Flashing: Bend metal trim or flashing as needed for structures.
Quality Control: Review and verify accuracy of all components to identify potential errors. Also identify any discrepancies in information to avoid problems continuing downstream. Maintain a great quality control system.
Secondary Roles:
Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Create and maintain organized and efficient workspaces.
Assist other departments as needed to help the flow of work.

Required skills/abilities:
To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies to perform the essential functions of this position.
Analytical: The individual can efficiently digest and organize complex or diverse construction plans and contracts to transform it into a product.
Construction Experience (3+): Is experienced in construction and is able to read and understand construction drawings. Is extremely knowledgeable in all aspects of framing.
Leadership & Management: Has a desire to grow along with a passion to serve and care for people.
Experience: 5+ years of residential construction experience would be a plus.
Problem Solving: The individual identifies problems, gathers and analyzes information skillfully, and is able to pinpoint issues quickly to resolve in a timely manner.
Quality Management: The individual looks for ways to improve and promote quality and demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness.
Judgment: The individual displays willingness to make decisions, exhibits sound and accurate judgment, and makes timely decisions.
Process Knowledge: Awareness and knowledge of all processes/procedures for pool house and cottage specs & quality.
